Regina's Plan to Restore Pueblo

Restoring Pueblo

Regina’s three-phase process explained…

STEP 1: Critically thinking about our needs, wants, and desires that will create positive change in our community.

The first and very important step in this process depends on you, the Voter. You can start by critically thinking about our needs, wants, and desires that will create positive change in our community.

  • Does the candidate listen or are they too busy talking? A good listener considers the constituency, their input and their concerns. A good candidate is definitely concerned about the details. They won’t tell you to move out of Pueblo if you don’t like their leadership style. They won’t give special interest groups priority over their constituency.

  • Has the candidate had a considerable amount of time in Pueblo leadership previously? If the answer is yes, then consider if their leadership was positively impactful. Remember we can’t get away from the good ol’ boys if we keep electing them.

  • Is it important for the candidate you elect to be someone you know as an acquaintance, friend, classmate, or born and raised here? We’ve all been guilty of voting for that person. Sometimes people WITHOUT those qualities can become very rooted in the Pueblo and utilize their experiences that they’ve seen positively impact other communities towards positive change right here at home.

  • Do your homework. I always recommend calling the candidate, you can call me on my cell: 719-504-8888. The media and gossip could be used as a weapon called propaganda. Propaganda is a source of gas lighting to sway the public from making important decisions that affect the results of the outcome. The results must benefit Pueblo as a whole. Choose the person who you trust to work for the people based on the research you put in so you can make the right decision.

STEP 2: We Won!

The Voters did their homework and decided Regina would be the new Mayor of Pueblo! They found through her bio and their research that they have many things in common. Most importantly, Regina is just like you - God fearing, hardworking, family oriented and believes in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

  • We have no shame in being a predominantly blue collar community. We take pride in the blood sweat and tears it takes to provide for our families. Our motto is Steel City and we are forged from the melting pot of values bestowed upon us by our ancestors. We deserve the best, because we’ve earned it!

  • We have no shame in our faith and belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. This country as well as our community has been built on, “In God we Trust” and throughout our existence we will fight to keep it that way.

  • We know that our children are our future and they too often suffer by being used as a pawns and taught values that differ from ours. We understand that we are not broken, therefore we are warriors that protect our family. We’ve taken the time to save our families from being led by corrupt leaders. Leaders with intentions that affect our income, children’s education, the health of our community, through policies that cause changes in values, confusion, chaos and division.

You’ve chosen Regina, a leader who possesses the determination to follow her convictions, stand for our values, and challenges accepted wisdom. Regina is a warrior for the truth, she has the courage to take on established systems, and she will do what is right, not what is easy. Regina is willing to accept the criticisms from those who lack the courage, the guts and the stamina that it takes to do this, Regina will not only be true to herself she will be true to Pueblo,

Now for her plan, it’s simple, A Cleaner, Safer Pueblo! Restoring our American Dream!

STEP 3: Restoring Pueblo

The plan: A Cleaner, Safer Pueblo! What does that mean?
It means implementing simple common sense solutions.

REGINA WILL…

Be responsible for ENFORCEMENT of the LAWS and ORDINANCES of the City; This is currently NOT being done which is allowing for:

  • Homelessness escalating out of control

  • Excessive crime at a municipal level

  • Blight

  • Panhandling

  • Open drug usage

  • Loitering

  • Trespassing

  • Littering

  • Defecating in public

REGINA WILL…

Champion new Ordinances in conjunction with the city council.

  • To ensure we improve the quality of life in our community.

REGINA WILL…

Audit all departments to ensure they operate effectively and efficiently. Regina believes all entities and external agencies paid for with tax dollars should provide Pueblo with the services their dollars pay for.

  • Code enforcement is overwhelmed and understaffed allowing for blighted properties to go unaddressed.

  • Parks and Rec is also overwhelmed with homeless and illegal trash clean up that distracts them from keeping parks and beautification projects from being executed in a timely manner.

  • Contract with skilled private contractors to perform trash clean ups of public areas to ensure safety amongst workers. These companies are specially trained in hazardous waste cleanup.

  • Hold CDOT, the railroad, water conservancy district, county, state and federal properties within the city accountable to keep their properties clean from trash, weeds and overgrown vegetation.

REGINA WILL…

Create growth: Prioritizing clean-up and safety successfully opens Pueblo to endless development, tourist, and business opportunities that we can take full advantage of because we will have a clean and safer community that respects law and order and our values of Faith, Family, and Community. Pueblo will shine with integrity and dignity and we will be home again.

REGINA WILL…

Contract a third party to perform a forensic audit. Regina believes it’s her due diligence to have all financials thoroughly audited when taking over the financial responsibilities from prior administration. Municipal taxpayer dollars are to be used solely for the purpose of maintaining the city and providing new infrastructure.

  • Remove any and all expenses that do not fall under the charter.

  • Review all city assets.

  • Reorganize departments proven to be inefficient.

  • Allocate all 2A tabor revenue not just 5M towards road improvements. Pueblo needs 1200 miles of road replacement and repair; to spend Tabor money on anything other than roads is an injustice to the taxpayer.

  • In 2023 the budget was the highest in Pueblo at $134,235,572. $16,862,259 had to be deducted from the fund balance (savings) to cover the expenses for 2023. Regina voted against the 2023 budget.

REGINA WILL…

Prioritize tax dollars to Public Safety. Regina believes in order to ensure a safer community all agencies relating to public safety must be fully staffed with the necessary amount of employees to operate efficiently and effectively. Regina is pro public safety as long as there’s integrity behind the badge. She believes Pueblo has public safety officers to be proud of.

  • Address all Administrative and Morale concerns. A survey was conducted by PD amongst it’s officers and these issues scored over 35%.

  • Allocate 33% of the budget for law enforcement. In the 2023 budget only 26% was allocated.

  • Ensure FD has updated apparatus’s and equipment to safely perform their duties.

  • Create a plan to build new or modify the desperately needed fire stations without increasing tax dollars. The 2022 budget mistakenly did not allocate funds for the architectural plans for the new fire stations and the funds had to be deducted from the fund balance (savings) to cover the expense of 1.5M for plans and included a project manager. No monies have been budgeted for construction.

  • Ensure through allocations we can hire new officers allowing the 2B initiative to sunset at its next election because our PD is fully funded without having to ask for additional tax dollars. Remember, 2020 33% - 2023 26% + approx. 4-5% of 2B tax money. I’ll let you do the math.

  • Reduce homelessness to lessen the overwhelming calls for FD Medical responders.

  • Regina commits that she and her administration will be present and heard by state legislators that threaten to harm the peace of our community.

REGINA WILL…

Keep small businesses safe. Small businesses are the backbone of our community. Regina, at a local level, will ensure that small businesses WILL NOT have to clean up the homeless population’s trash, needles, and destruction of their property because Regina is committed to reducing crime and homelessness. In turn, businesses will keep up their curb appeal.

REGINA WILL…

Address Economic Development: Regina has not voted for shell building that sits vacant for years. She doesn’t believe in investing taxpayer dollars in companies that pay wages where employees need additional subsidies to operate their household. Regina will perform a full audit on our economic development resources and be transparent to the public so they can make an informed decision on whether they want to continue with what we have or change it to a more productive effort.

In conclusion, these are just a few of the concerns from citizens that need to be addressed and Regina is a proven leader who represents the voice and concerns of the people in our community. She understands the function of municipal government is to prioritize taxpayer dollars in maintenance and infrastructure improvements in order to create a healthy, safe and productive environment for us to live in. Municipal taxpayer dollars are not to be used for social programs. Cleaning up Pueblo is simpler than one might think, it starts with electing Regina who has the skill set and experience to take on projects and run them efficiently so they produce effective positive results! Regina has the integrity, grit, tenacity, and drive to do the right thing. She has a vision of a thriving Pueblo. She will work for you! Thank you for taking the time out to meet and communicate with Regina, Pueblo’s next Mayor.
